At Aevitas Wealth, we believe in empowering people to control their lives and finances and feel confident in their financial decisions. We know that this is especially important for women.

March is Women’s History Month, and we want to highlight the importance and evolution of women’s financial rights. It's astounding to look back and realize that women didn't gain the right to open a bank account until the 1960s, and until 1974, women couldn't even get a credit card without their husband's signature. Women’s rights have come a long way. Today, more women than men are pursuing higher education and make-up nearly half of the U.S. workforce. Women don’t just earn money in the family — they are largely responsible for their families’ decision-making and hold the majority of consumer spending power. By 2030, it is estimated that women will control two-thirds of the nation's wealth! Women are an economic powerhouse, yet they still need to be better served by the financial services industry. Our goal at Aevitas has always been to educate every one of our clients to have a solid financial base to plan their future thoughtfully. As your adviser, we don't believe in "bucketing" any one group, but we recognize that women face unique challenges, especially saving for retirement. Women are living longer than ever before, and funding that longevity is crucial given they make less money than their male counterparts and provide a disproportionate amount of caregiving in the United States. Many women put their careers on hold or reduce working hours to care for children and aging parents; this has been of particular note during the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s no wonder that research has shown that they are more likely than men to experience financial anxiety and feel stressed when discussing their finances. Education, goal-setting, and planning can ease financial anxiety - all things that we strive to help our clients with at Aevitas. As today's generation of women seeks more knowledge, they can have more confidence to secure their financial future. Fidelity Investments recently released a Financial Sentiments Survey that found seven out of 10 (71%) women want to take steps in the next six months to manage their finances better. This month should be about celebrating women and taking simple steps to make progress toward financial goals and, ultimately, peace of mind. No matter what stage of life you are in, our team at Aevitas can help you take action. After all, financial planning is more than a bottom line - it's a plan to reach goals and take care of yourselves and the people you love.
